Dr. Jamal Golbahar is an Associate Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, founder and director of Dr Golbahar Newborn Screening Laboratory in Shiraz, South West of Iran. As a member of International Society of Neonatal Screening Dr. Golbahar has been actively involved in molecular medicine field and promoting and advocating the newborn screening and genetic testing in the Middle East for over 18 years. He has also been actively involved in providing reviews and expert advice to newborn screening programs and genetic testing in the Middle East. Dr Golbahar earned a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Bradford University, UK, and master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Biochemistry from Leeds University, UK. He is a UK certified Pediatric Clinical Biochemist and his research interests in molecular medicine include; inborn errors of metabolism and he has been principal investigator on a number of clinical studies exploring Gene-nutrients interaction and has also pursued clinical research studies relating to the inherited metabolic disorders with more than 25 publications.

Dr. Alaa Bagalagel, Pharm.D., CDE, is assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Bagalagel is the director of pharmaceutical training unit. Dr. Bagalagel earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from King Abdulaziz University after which time he completed Pharmacy Practice Residency and Ambulatory Care Specialty Residency training at The University of Arizona.Dr. Bagalagel completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at The University of Arizona. Dr. Bagalagel is Certified Diabetes Educator. He provides a service as Ambulatory care consultant at King Abdulaziz University Hospital. He is an active member of the biosimilar working group at The University of Arizona Health Outcomes and PharmacoEconomic Center.

His area of research includes: clinical safety and efficacy of biosimilars, diabetes care, and drug reactions.

Prof. Bharat Bhushan is an Ohio Eminent Scholar and The Howard D. Winbigler Professor Director, Nanoprobe Laboratory for Bio- & Nanotechnology and Biomimetics (NLB2) at Ohio State University,Dr. Bharat Bhushan is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Dr. Bhushan came to OSU in 1991 after a 15-year career in industry, working primarily for IBM Almaden Research Center. A professor with diverse interests, Dr. Bhushan’s works in biomimetic interface science, surface engineering, nanotribology, and materials research. His research has focused on scanning probe techniques in the interdisciplinary areas of bio/nanotribology, bio/nanomechanics and bio/nanomaterials characterization and applications to bio/nanotechnology, and biomimetics. Dr. Bhushan spent the 2013-2014 year working as an ASME Science Fellow in Congress. His work there focused on policy and funding of various scientific government agencies, setting science and engineering goals for the country, and STEM education. Dr. Bhushan is a prolific author (h-index – 76+; ISI Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science since 2007 and in Biology and Biochemistry since 2013; ISI Top 5% Cited Authors for Journals in Chemistry since 2011), influencing many different fields. He has authored 8 scientific books, 90+ handbook chapters, nearly 900 scientific papers, and 60+ scientific reports. He has also edited 50+ books and holds 20 U.S. and foreign patents.

Fundamental studies in the interdisciplinary areas of bio/nanotribology/nanomechanics and nanomaterials characterization in bio/nanotechnology and biomimetics with a focus on scanning probe techniques.

He has received his PhD in Hokkaido University, Japan during the period of 1984-1988. Currently, he is working as professor of biochemistry in Alexandria University, Egypt. He was appointed as head of Biochemistry Department, Alexandria University, Egypt from 2007 to 2009. His research has included the study of enzyme characterization, enzyme inhibition, cell signaling and the biochemical parameters in diseases. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals and expert Reviewer for many journals. He have authorized more than 60 peerreviewed research articles. He is a member of Egyptian Biochemical Society and Egyptian Society of Clinical Chemistry.

Dr Suzan Darwish has completed her BPharm, MSc from faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt; PhD in Pharmacology from Strathclyde University,UK. Acted as Professor of Pharmacology in Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria, Egypt, from 1988 until 2003.then acted as head of the same department until 2005. She is now Emeritus Professor in Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, since 2005 . Published 35 papers in reputed journals and supervised 14 MSc/ PhD thesis Elected as president of the Egyption Association of the Advancement of Basic Medical Sciences ( EAMBS) from 2003 up till now.

Dr. Abdulrahman A Almehizia is a researcher in drug discovery and design. He is a medicinal chemist, computer modeling scientist and molecular biologist with a deep knowledge in the genetics, biochemistry, enzymology and chemical biology of the G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) which plays an important role in the several physiological and pathological processes. Dr. Almehizia has published several research articles in the synthesis and exploring of new drugs, depicting several novel ligands targeting the GPCR of the cannabinoid receptors. Dr. Almehizia is currently the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at King Saud University – School of Pharmacy and the acting Supervisor of the Drug Exploration and Development Chair (DEDC).

Aida Ahmed Said Guemei has completed her PhD from Howard University, School of Medicine, Washington D.C.USA. from 2012- till now she is an associate professor in pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, EGYPT.

Dr. Agni Grypioti is currently working as Formulation Development Director at Rontis Hellas SA being responsible for setting up the Pharmaceutical Division. She has completed Bachelor in Chemistry with research work on Biochemistry and she also holds a PhD in Experimental Pharmacology (University of Athens). She began her career in 2002 leading an academic research on a new hepatoprotective drug. In 2005 she moved into the private sector working as a Project Manager for the well-known companies Hoffmann-La Roche AG and Qiagen. In 2007 she moved in the pharmaceutical industry and joined DEMO SA as a Senior Formulation Scientist, where she worked in the development of injectable and freeze-dried injectable generic drugs. In 2009 she joined Genepharm SA, which specializes in solid generic dosage forms, as Group Leader and later as Head of Formulation Development. Her responsibilities included project management and guidance of the formulation scientific team. Dr. Grypioti has published several scientific articles in peer reviewed international journals, has extensively presented her research in scientific conferences and she is inventor in eight (8) patent applications.
